VALUE SYSTEM

Deuteronomy 6:1-9

Your heart is where your wealth is, its where you are most happy, when you are even asleep you dream about it,even on the news you want to hear how your business is growing, you want to know how your children would study. if its the church, you want to know how your church will show the face of the Lord how the people will be happy while inside the church.
"For your heart will always be where your riches are" Matt. 6:21 Some people might ask why this verse talk about riches and am not rich. The riches this verse talks about is when you have good health you are rich, when you have even one shilling you are rich. God has given you that shilling depending on how you will manage it. you are given what you can manage at that time, that family you have is what you can manage.


VALUES

lets look closely at values "madili in Kiswahili", Kenya is growing or not growing because of its values, People are growing or not growing because of their values.


There are many things that are competing for our attention in life;


It is our Family
We have expectation as a parents, your children are looking unto you on one side, your parents on the other side,every one is looking at you. even yourself, you have expectation as to how you want your family to be or grow. The question is how will you manage it. The bible says in Mathew 16:26 "For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?" KJV, what is the gain if your family is good and grows and and it becomes prosperous, but later you loose everything since you didn't build your home with the foundation that is Jesus Christ? This family's and your expectation must be build upon Jesus Christ. That family that is build in Jesus Christ even it faces hardship and doesn't meet its expectations it still Stands with Christ, in every thing Jesus is the Lord.

Careers
Careers that has not been set upon the foundation that is Jesus Christ are bound to fail, that business that you are doing with your mind and not putting it to the Lord its useless it will be lost. But if you put your Career and Business in the foundation that is Jesus Christ you will see it grow in bounds, people will look and wonder if its you, because The Almighty Lord has lifted you up.

Worldly pleasures
Worldly pleasures is also craving for the same position in our lives, we have good Christians who have this world pleasures like beer and cigarets, This are the things that are making you not to see the the Glory of the Lord, these things you can say NO to them. Some even send their children to go and get for them cigarets, SHAME ON YOU because this are the wrong values you are instilling on to your children.You come home and find you children drinking in your house you ask them who has given them permission to drink and yet you are the one who has left that beer at home.

Internet
The internet has also taken all our attention in our lives whether it's email, pornographic materials, Facebook, tweeter, whatsapp, blogs etc we are all hooked up to them. they are fighting for the same attention.

The Media
The media has also taken over our attention, the TV, the Newspaper, soap operas etc they have also taken over our lives, in our Phones we have a couple of apps but the most visited are the social apps but rarely you will touch on the bible app.

Friends, partners, Work colleagues and Relationships.

Sin
sin enjoys being done, there must be people who do wrong things.

Morality
your body pushes you to a Corner, as you see hot jamaas and chicks!

Yes! Its all about your value system, How have you been raised, how have you been build, what is in your mind, are you like a grownup person? Because Values are the virtues that control the way we think, feel, act and live. values determine our lives in the present and the future.

Your Values determine where your heart is! Math 6: 21 "where your treasures are there your heart is".
why do we go to church? do we go because others are going or because you want to get something? The question every one should ask him self is whether for example am I preaching just to preach or am preaching to also be blessed. Are you listening to the sermon just to listen or you are listening to be blessed and get the teaching?
Do you have that value system your children can copy from? and say they would say that they got those values from you. Do you have values that can copied?


What do you treasure most in your life? Is it happiness, holiness, Power, money, work, career, family, friends, pleasure, friendship, integrity etc.


What are your values made of? Is it Holiness, uprightness, what is fashionable, acceptability, pleasing people, pleasing God, relativity, doing what is right, pleasing yourself?


What informs your values? Is it your Background, Upbringing, Training, Culture, Environment, Fear or is it your God?


What informs your values, because for us to Succeed there are value based boosters


VALUE BASED BOOSTERS


1. Being focused

People are getting lost not because they don't know the way, its because they are doing one thing today and tomorrow they want to do something else, your see someone successful in a business, you say you want to do the same. if God has blessed you with any kind of business don't down play it because maybe its small or maybe its depriving you your status, someone has probably owned property through that same business you are despising. Our God is a God of wonders he can bless you from that thing you are despising if you remain focused.

2. Having a vision and Mission

Have a vision draw a mission say am going to move from here to there. ARE YOU FOCUSED stick there your blessing is coming there.

3. Hard work and Personal motivation

If you can not motivate your self no body can motivate you. In the morning someone has already done his work while other are still sleeping, example those people working in the market they wake up so early.

4. Following the meaning of your DREAM

Not just your dream the meaning of that dream what are you dreaming. your dream might be bad because you might be following others dreams.

5. Having a plan

Know where you will start where you will pass and where you will reach, if a builder is building a house he draws all the plans before the start to do the construction

6. The Fear of God

The Greatest of them all Go on getting Wealth through the bad and corrupt ways the same ways that wealth was acquired the same way it will go.The other small business you might wonder how its flourishing, but its because he has not mixed it with corruption.

We must be must be prepared to sacrifice and make a personal contribution for our growth. Seeking to make each other better.

As a people and God has endowed us differently

3: WORKING AND GROWING TOGETHER
Focusing more on baking and not merely sharing the national  cake; creativeness for the common good and economic prosperity for all

4: STEWARDSHIP Management of life, talents and responsibilities

5: SHARED HUMANITY (ubuntu) AND DIGNITY
Sanctity of human life. Value of people should not be based on what we do, where we come from, or political/ religious affiliation), LOVE in action



Way forward


It is never too late to form a value system. It is costly and it needs a change of life - changing your auto pilot - your thought life. The most important thing is not the values, but what informs the values.

Whatever you have learned in life that ruins you can be unlearned! You have no one to blame for your life you are solely responsible.

The Holy Spirit is more than willing to help you shape your life, despite our fallen nature. Paul says "it is God who works in us.." Phil 2:13.
