NOT ON THE PATHWAY;
WE ARE NOW ON THE SUPER HIGHWAY,
JOURNEYING TOWARDS OUR VISION
"Where there is no vision people perish" Pro. 28:18. Our vision as a Parish takes us to be “A model Parish in PCEA”.
This vision is our Dreamline which has since evolved in a journey on a path, road, highway and now a super highway towards our vision. I am indebted to the pioneer Minister of PCEA Unity as a congregation of PCEA Umoja Parish in 2006; Rev Gacheru Kaira.
He started this long journey towards the vision just on a very small and narrow path. It was a landless small mabati structure. There came my predecessor Rev Mbaka Imwara. I salute his efforts to ensure that the path became a Road. Yes, he was the first Parish Minister in a parish without a permanent Sanctuary but with a Vision. Now on the road, the Journey towards the Vision continued to become a reality. Efforts to fundraise locally among the congregants have bore enough fruits to enable us reach where we are today.
And here came another Rev Otieno K’Agola in January 2015.
I came at a time when the vision on paper is to be translated into the evident reality. This great vision of building the House for the Name and Worship of the LORD God is on and is expected to continue until its final stone is laid beginning with the foundation stone which is the core purpose of this celebration.
It is my challenge to show leadership during this time when a lot of support is required from our membership. I believe and know that my management team of able Ordained Elders and the Sanctuary committee under the Chairmanship of Mr. Bill Gichanga is up to the task; God being our helper.
We are now past the Highway into the Super Highway Journeying towards our Vision. We pray that God will see us through as we explore on our Year 2015 Theme: Going Back to Bethel; promising to hear the Call, obey the Command, follow the Conditions and do a Commitment plan. It is my conviction that when we purpose to Go back to Bethel, the House of God, we shall be strong while on our Journey Towards the Vision.
